Danielle Scott

Co-Founder & Vice President, PDS Group LLC

"I have served our founder's legacy well, but I never see myself as done."

Service and adventure. These two watchwords characterize Danielle Scott’s approach to her life, her career, and especially to her 26 years with the Pincus Family Foundation.

Scott has shaped and guided the organization from the ground up. As the trusted Executive Assistant to founder David Pincus for 13 years, she was given unique insight into his vision for helping others. From early days of “kitchen table” philanthropy to the establishment of the formal Foundation, Scott has been integral to defining and executing its mission. She embarked on her greatest adventure, her current role, in 2012.

As Executive Director, Scott oversees all aspects of the Foundation’s planning, operations, and board relations. Under her leadership, the Pincus Family Foundation has created a distinctive model of trust-based philanthropy that goes beyond funding, establishing deep and lasting partnerships with the organizations and people it supports. As a staff of one, Scott earned the 2016 Outstanding Foundation of the Year Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Philadelphia Chapter. She consistently demonstrates to stakeholders the Foundation’s commitment to be a leader in supporting tools of change, helping create environments where all children thrive.

With an eye toward future success, Scott has led the formation of the Foundation’s Next Gen and Advisory Committees, both focused on extending its reach and impact, and a Field Grant Advisory Committee being developed to consist of four (4) field experts in each of the grantmaking areas. What she considers her greatest accomplishment to date is the formation of their Health and Wellness Pillar Partner Program. An innovative partnership that brought together four grant-funded institutions, Boston Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Temple University, and Tulane University. Convening and nurturing this partnership eliminated siloed practices, established pipelines that thrive independently, and promoted being a resource for the Foundation’s smaller grantee partners.

Internally, Scott has worked to create a culture that encourages all stakeholders to bring their unique abilities to the service of others.

Beyond the Pincus Family Foundation, Scott serves on the board of the Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia and is a member of CHIEF, an exclusive national network for women executive leaders. She is a Certified Paralegal, a graduate of the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute at Bryn Mawr College, and a graduate of the inaugural Philadelphia African American Leadership Development Forum (PAALDF) through the Urban League of Philadelphia at Bryn Mawr College’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute.
